There are more Revit Users than Architects in the USA!

Here is a posting from Inside the Factory

Help with Future Launches of Revit Architecture
"A message from our marketing group:
The marketing group is busy preparing for future launches of Revit Architecture. There’s always a web component to our launch plans. In the future, we’re looking to expand our activity in the blogosphere, on YouTube, discussion groups, and several other areas of the social media. To help inform that process, we’ve built a survey and would appreciate your input. For this go ‘round, we’re specifically looking for input from Revit Architecture users and buyers in the US. If you’ve got 15 minutes to spare, please take the survey so that we can better spend this portion of our marketing resources. The survey link and instructions for entering a mini-contest can be found at here. Don’t let too much time go by before completing the survey – the mini-contest will close in a few days and winners will be announced. "
Questions raised when seeing this posting

What about the Structural and MEP Users "This time round" Perhaps RST and MEP Users later?

All versions of Revit get released at the same time so where are the questions from the Marketing Team for RST and MEP Users? "This time round, Ummmm read Maybe, Something, Never!"
Message to Marketing Team "There are Revit Users outside the USA you know!"

Are RST and MEP Revit Users considered as Second Class Users? "Answers please on a postcard!"

Are Revit Users outside the USA considered as Second Class Users? "Or considered at all?"

An ipod for your thoughts

Autodesk is looking for customers in Boston, Toronto or Portland (Oregon) to participate in a focus group or site visit on improving its products. Products are general... AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit but other products as well.

The research will be conducted in late January/early February in a downtown hotel in each city at approximately 6:30pm – 8pm on a weekday evening.

Customer visits will be conducted in the day time and will last approximately 1 hour.

If you’re interested in participating and helping us improve Autodesk software let us know by completing this form.

P.S. I know many of you would participate just for the chance to contribute but I am told if you’re selected to attend you’ll also receive an iPod Nano 8GB.

Ummm Do they Know Toronto is not in the USA?

Joking aside It’s nice to see Autodesk engaging it's customers even if it is only Architects in the USA and CANADA "This Time Around"

Alan,

I’ve finished watching my first episode of ‘One Foot in the Grave’ – Season 5, episode 5 (a.k.a. Hole in the Sky). It was the one where Victor & Margaret were having the attack finished; Victor rebuilt a meaningful relationship with a puppet; and was later forced to hide in the pantry of the vacation home that Patrick and Pippa were visiting just to get away from the Medlrew’s.

Having watched the episode (and being wiser for it)…thanks for the Victor Meldrew Moments.

I certainly intend no disrespect with this survey. Research can become expensive very quickly. The decision to target this initial survey towards Revit Architecture users (and an identical survey to AutoCAD Civil 3D users) in the US is largely due to the amount of available resources.

Future surveys are likely but will depend on several factors (e.g. the amount of variation between the Revit Architecture and AutoCAD Civil 3D survey results; the impact they can make on planning; etc).

Thank you for your concern and posting, I’m sure there was no intention to disrespect users outside the USA & Canada. I was just having some fun. But don’t you go spoiling those Architects too much! ;0)

On a serious note I would encourage users to get involved with the Autodesk Customer Feedback Programs.(link on my blog)

As seen here Autodesk do monitor blogs, read AUGI posting, Alpha and Beta test software and carry out electronic and physical marketing surveys.

Help Autodesk build better software for us to use.
